Cambridge Enterprise hosts TenU, an international collaboration formed to capture effective practices in research commercialisation and share these with governments and higher education communities.
TenU members are the technology transfer offices of the University of Cambridge, Columbia University, University of Edinburgh, Imperial College London, KU Leuven, University of Manchester, MIT, University of Oxford, Stanford University, and UCL. TenU members work together to increase the societal impact of research.
Ananay oversees the activities of TenU, an international collaboration of leading tech transfer offices created to share effective practices in research commercialisation with the sector and government.
The members of TenU are the transfer offices of the universities of Cambridge, Columbia, Edinburgh, Imperial College London, KU Leuven, Manchester, MIT, Stanford, Oxford, and UCL.
After leading a two-year pilot programme, Ananay raised £4m to deliver a programme of work for a further five years. Under Ananay’s leadership, TenU has delivered the University Spinout Investment Terms Guide—the USIT Guide, a set of recommendations offering a landing zone for what a positive deal should look like; the TenU Future Leaders Programme, an international training programme of peer-learning and exchange for mid-career technology transfer professionals, and the TenU Hosts event series.
Prior to joining TenU, Ananay worked as an independent consultant connecting policy and research in the areas of copyright, cultural policy and diversity. She previously held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship and a Mellon Disciplinary Innovation Teaching Fellowship at the University of Cambridge.
Ananay continues to be affiliated with the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Law (CIPIL) and to mentor early career researchers as part of the University’s Office for Postdoctoral Affairs Mentorship Scheme.
Ananay joined TenU in June 2020. TenU is funded by Research England and hosted by Cambridge Enterprise.

Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Freskida worked as a Research Scientist at Graz University of Technology, focusing on the high-yield production, chemical functionalisation and characterisation of 2D nanomaterials. She was also responsible for teaching the General Chemistry Laboratory course.
Freskida completed her PhD in Chemistry with distinction at Graz University of Technology. Her scientific work has been peer-reviewed and published, and she has participated in various international conferences where she won several Best Talk and Best Poster Awards.
Freskida joined Cambridge Enterprise in January 2023.
Paige supports all aspects of TenU, an international collaboration of leading tech transfer offices created to capture and share effective practices in research commercialisation.
Within this role Paige helps with the organisation of everything TenU. She helps to plan the events and meetings which involve working with overseas and Paige has a strong focus on the communication and marketing which runs alongside these.
Alongside her work at Cambridge Enterprise, Paige runs her own Personal Training business. The contrasting hours of both roles fit into her busy schedule perfectly. She previously managed a ladies only gym, so Paige has a vast skillset and especially enjoys working with and organising people.
Paige joined Cambridge Enterprise in January 2022.
Rupert has worked in international charities as a training manager (CISV International) and programme manager (Worldwide Radiology) from 2011 and is passionate about creating impactful learning experiences with and for diverse groups of learners.
Rupert carried out field research in Vietnam from 2002-2005 on which his PhD on participatory agricultural research is based. He researched rural innovation and was a lecturer at Sheffield and Manchester Metropolitan Universities in development geography and environmental management.
Rupert is a Chartered Manager and member of the Chartered Management Institute. He joined Cambridge Enterprise in October 2023.
In her capacity as TenU Communications and Partnerships Coordinator, Dr Yu Zhou supports the TenU team, with CRM system development and management, event and meeting planning efforts as well as managing the team’s social media presence.
Prior to joining TenU at Cambridge Enterprise Yu, studied at University of Edinburgh earning a master’s degree and earned her PhD from the University of Glasgow. Her doctoral research focused on the profound impact of war films and documentaries on our collective memory, highlighting the pivotal role of public media in shaping societal narratives.
Yu joined Cambridge Enterprise in November 2023
