Cambridge is the most intensive science and technological cluster in the world. There are more than 5,000 knowledge-intensive firms based in and around Cambridge, employing more than 69,000 people and generating £18 billion turnover.
The University of Cambridge contributes over £29.8 billion to the UK economy annually, supporting around 86,000 jobs across the UK, including 52,000 in the East of England, and contributes over £13 billion in gross value added (GVA).
The University publishes Innovation in Numbers, a visual summary of the Cambridge Cluster and the University’s role within it. The infographic demonstrates the success of the Cambridge entrepreneurial community and illustrates how the University, with Cambridge Enterprise’s support, contributes to it.
