Boris is responsible for the Business Support team and for information analysis and reporting.
He oversees project developments and the IP portfolio management system, as well as related processes and management information reporting.
Prior to his current post, Boris held several roles at Cambridge Enterprise including Business Support Manager and Senior Technology Associate in the Life Sciences team.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Boris worked as a research associate for an international executive search consultancy providing senior manager and executive recruitment services to the life science and healthcare industries.
Boris has an MSc in Biology from the University of Montpellier (France) and Level 5 Award in Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Boris joined the Technology Transfer Office of the University (which became Cambridge Enterprise in 2006) in September 2003.
Dan is the Data and Reporting Analyst within Business Support, the team responsible for the company’s business intelligence and the administration and management of our intellectual property portfolio.
Dan’s focus is on delivering insights from the business’ Microsoft Dynamics 365 application. Dan is implementing a new reporting solution and thus responsible for the end-to-end architectural design, harnessing technologies including Azure SQL, Common Data Services, Power Platform, through to the considerations for report creation, security, and consumption.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Dan has held multiple positions in the Business Intelligence field and has worked with a number of technologies ranging from Microsoft SQL Server, SAP Business Warehouse, and Power BI.
Dan joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2019.
Natalie is responsible for the coordination of our Physical Sciences intellectual property portfolio held by Cambridge Enterprise on behalf of the University. She is a member of Business Support, the team responsible for business intelligence as well as the administration and management of our portfolio of inventions, patents and agreements.
Natalie coordinates the execution of commercial and internal agreements put in place in relation to our Physical Sciences portfolio, as well as ensuring the relevant data is captured and maintained, thereby contributing to the integrity of Cambridge Enterprise’s portfolio data.
Prior to her current position, Natalie worked in several companies from heavy industry to medical materials in product development.
Natalie has a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield.
Natalie joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2013.
Nitasha is Senior Post-deal Coordinator within Business Support, the team responsible for the company’s business intelligence and the administration and management of our intellectual property portfolio.
The Business Support team continues to improve the breadth and accuracy of the portfolio data that we hold and which is drawn on to produce key performance indicators for reporting at all levels, including for University departments and UK government bodies.
Nitasha coordinates the post-deal administration of the licences and agreements put in place in relation to our portfolio of inventions and patents. She ensures relevant information is captured, thereby contributing to the completeness and accuracy of Cambridge Enterprise’s portfolio data.
Nitasha previously worked at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and the Department of Medicine at Addenbrookes Hospital where she co-ordinated various finance and administrative tasks for her team. Prior to that, she worked at CPA Global in patent renewal and KPMG in operations.
Nitasha has an MBA in HR and Finance and a BA degree in Economics.
Nitasha joined Cambridge Enterprise in March 2019.
Amy is the Post-deal Manager within Business Support, the team responsible for the company’s business intelligence and the administration and management of our intellectual property portfolio.
Amy is responsible for managing the post-deal function which includes maintaining relationships with licensees and other third-party deal partners and administering compliance of deal obligations.
Prior to her current position, Amy worked at Cancer Research UK within the Commercial Partnerships team, where she managed the post-deal activity associated with their licence and spin-out portfolio. Amy has a Master of Chemistry degree from the University of Southampton.
Amy joined Cambridge Enterprise in May 2021.
Nicola is responsible for the coordination of our Life Sciences intellectual property portfolio held by Cambridge Enterprise on behalf of the University. She is a member of Business Support, the team responsible for business intelligence as well as the administration and management of our portfolio of inventions, patents and agreements.
Nicola coordinates the execution of commercial and internal agreements put in place in relation to our Life Sciences portfolio, as well as ensuring the relevant data is captured and maintained, thereby contributing to the integrity of Cambridge Enterprise’s portfolio data.
Nicola joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2019.
Denise is responsible for supporting the coordination of our Technology Transfer team’s portfolio held by Cambridge Enterprise on behalf of the University. She is a member of Business Support, the team responsible for business intelligence as well as the administration and management of our portfolio of inventions, patents and agreements, including the archiving of our data and files once the project is completed.
Denise coordinates the execution of commercial and internal agreements put in place in relation to our Technology Transfer team’s portfolio, as well as ensuring the relevant data is captured and maintained, thereby contributing to the integrity of Cambridge Enterprise’s portfolio data.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise Denise has had a couple of roles within the University, she worked at the School of Clinical Medicine, within the Assessment Team and she also worked in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, as a Pavilion and Undergraduate Office Administrator.
Denise joined Cambridge Enterprise in March 2024.
As Chief Financial Officer, Sam manages the finance department and has overall responsibility for quarterly reporting, compliance, budgeting and statutory reporting. In addition, Sam is heavily involved in the long-term strategic positioning and reporting for Cambridge Enterprise, and is Company Secretary for both Cambridge Enterprise and Cambridge University Technical Services.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise in January 2023, Sam worked for Cambridge University Press and Assessment as the Finance Director for their Academic Publishing division. Prior to that Sam worked in the Entrepreneurial Business department of a large professional services firm providing accounting, audit and tax services to owner managed businesses.
Sam is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
As Finance Manager, Diane manages the Finance Team and ensures the effective recording, accounting and reporting of the accounting function, as well as meeting annual audit and other compliance obligations.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Diane worked for the University of Cambridge Finance Division as the Non-School Institutions Finance Manager and, more recently, also as Finance Manager for Fitzwilliam Museum (Enterprises) Ltd. Prior to this, Diane was Head of Finance for Nokia Mobile Phones (UK) Ltd. She has also worked for a variety of commercial companies and started her career in audit practice.
Diane is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Diane joined Cambridge Enterprise is September 2022.
As Financial Accountant, Elizabeth provides support to the Head of Finance and the Financial Controller as well as being responsible for VAT, fixed assets and monthly reporting for the Technology Transfer teams.
Elizabeth joined Cambridge Enterprise as an Accounts Assistant and was recently promoted to Financial Accountant. She has more than 20 years’ experience of ledger accounts.
Elizabeth joined Cambridge Enterprise in August 2007.
Steven is responsible for invoicing for both Cambridge Enterprise and Cambridge University Technical Sales Ltd.
He came to the company after five years’ experience working for a spin-out from Cambridge Consultants. Prior to this, Steven had more than 25 years’ experience in manufacturing, retail and wholesale accounts.
Steven joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2011.
Rosemary is responsible for credit control. Her role includes preparing invoices and collecting payments for medical specialists in private practice, and administrating customer payments.
Previous roles include: PA to the District Head Postmaster of Royal Mail Cambridge; Receptionist/Administrator at Arthur D Little; and Secretary to the Directors at Win-Born Products Ltd, carrying out all accounts and payroll.
Rosemary joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2017.
Susan’s role is Purchase Ledger Administrator and her responsibilities are, processing supplier invoices and employee expenses, also reconciling supplier statements and dealing with queries. Processing monthly payment runs via BACS and sending out payment remittances.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Susan worked at Allgood Services Ltd (Construction company that specialises in new builds) for over 6 years as Purchase Ledger/Health & Safety Administrator and provided cover for Payroll as and when required.
Susan has also worked previously in various financial temporary assignment roles picking up a lot of valuable skills through this and holds 20 years’ experience in accounts/ purchase ledger.
She has achieved a certificate with the Institute of Certified Book-keepers Level 1 .
Susan joined Cambridge Enterprise in October 2021.
As Finance Business Partner, Abigail provides support to the CFO and Finance Manager in completing the quarter end reporting which consists of the completion of quarter end reports, dealing with accruals, revenue recognition and assisting with the budget process.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Abigail worked for Cambridge University Press and Assessment for 13 years, with her most recent role there being that of Commercial Finance manager within the Academic Publishing Divisions.
Abigail is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and she joined Cambridge Enterprise in July 2023.
As the Finance Business Partner, Jamie plays an important role in supporting our finance department by providing financial analysis and business partnering to multiple stakeholders within the organisation.
Jamie graduated from The University of York with a degree BSc (Hons) in Accounting, Business Finance and Management in July 2023 and joined CE in August 2023.
As CTO, Matt’s role involves leading the IT team, working with Cambridge Enterprise strategic project groups to provide expertise, support and advice on their IT requirements, developing the IT strategy, and researching, recommending and project managing new IT technology solutions, thus helping Cambridge Enterprise engage with its customers, streamline business processes, and allow staff to be more effective.
Graduating from Cambridge in Engineering, Matt followed a career in web design and development, then enterprise applications and finally the full IT portfolio, working for many years in the media sector (Emap plc and The Guardian), but more recently a Tennessee software company and Cambridgeshire County Council.
Matt is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, having completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Anglia Ruskin University, and also attained Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status whilst studying IT Leadership at Cranfield University.
Matt joined Cambridge Enterprise in January 2019.
Michael has overall responsibility for end user support and manages the Helpdesk Team.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Michael was Helpdesk Manager for the University’s Research Services Division.
Originally a life skills trainer, and then a human resources manager, Michael partially changed career again by focusing his staff management and psychology training on the IT sector. Michael has managed a diverse array of projects during his career and has a personal interest in person-centred computing.
Michael joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2007.
As IT Delivery Manager, Chris is focused on the delivery of technology by maintaining essential systems, providing design and implementation input and co-managing IT projects.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Chris was Service Desk Manager at the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) where he led the Technology Support team and implemented best practice policies and processes. Prior to ABRSM, Chris was Technical Operations Manager at the Victoria and Albert Museum and was responsible for the Service Desk, Applications Support, and Asset and License Management teams.
Chris holds a BSc in Computing Technology, is CompTIA certified in Networking and holds ITIL certifications in Service Operation, Service Transition and Continual Service Improvement.
Chris joined Cambridge Enterprise in October 2022.
As an IT Support Analyst, Maruf is responsible for providing technical support and advice to our IT users.
Maruf is focused on creating a user-friendly environment for our IT system that enables any IT issues to be resolved quickly. Previously Maruf was employed for IT support role in various organisations including Marshall ADG and Bees UK LTD.
Maruf graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, achieving a 1st class degree in computer science including networking, web design and programming. He also has a certificate in Microsoft Windows 10.
Maruf joined Cambridge Enterprise in July 2018.
As an Application Support Analyst, Richard is responsible for providing both technical and process advice for our Microsoft Dynamics solution.
Richard came to us from Thomas Cook, where he worked in a number of roles over a 17 year period, the last seven of which have involved various types of CRM systems.
Richard holds both a BA and MBA.
Richard joined Cambridge Enterprise in March 2020.
As an IT Support Analyst, Anca is responsible for providing technical support and advice to our IT users.
Anca ensures the smooth functionality of the IT system within Cambridge Enterprise so that our IT users can seamlessly use the available technology in their day-to-day work.
Anca has previously worked in IT support roles for a variety of organisations such as Marshall ADG and DuPont EMEA.
A graduate of the University of Craiova in Romania, Anca studied French and English literature. She worked as a French teacher in the UK before starting a career in IT support.
Anca joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2017.
Leading the marketing and communications team, Joanna is responsible for the strategic marketing, communications, brand and promotion of Cambridge Enterprise.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise in 2004, Joanna worked in the financial services sector.
Joanna is a Chartered Marketer, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Leila re-joined the Marketing and Communications team in 2021 as Marketing Executive from her previous role as Commercialisation Associate within the Consultancy Team in Cambridge Enterprise. Before this, she was on secondment to Marketing and Communications team as Marketing and Communications Coordinator from her role as PA to the Technology Transfer Team.
Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, Leila acquired 12 years of experience in varied roles providing high-level business support, primarily within the banking industry. Leila was Business Support Manager to the Head of Banking at Coutts Bank, in the City of London and, before this, provided business support to a Senior Commercial Banker and managed a portfolio of high-net-worth commercial clients within the media industry.
Leila joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2018.
Lexi is Cambridge Enterprise’s Digital Communications Manager. She focuses on creating compelling narratives which engage with our key audiences to spread the message of the world-changing impact that is created in Cambridge.
With over 15 years’ experience, she specialises in storytelling, particularly taking the complex and making it accessible to any audience. Previously having worked in Tech and Professional Services, she spent the past five years as a freelance marketing consultant, copywriter and events facilitator within start-ups and tech businesses.
She holds a BA in English Literature & Creative Writing, a CIM Diploma in Marketing and most recently completed a Positive Impact Digital Marketing Certification from Alt Marketing School.
Lexi joined Cambridge Enterprise in November 2023.
Tegen is the Creative Lead in the Marketing and Communications team.
Previously she has worked within marketing in the publishing, non-profit and luxury e-commerce sectors as a Marketing Executive, a Marketing Assistant as well as a CRM Assistant. Her background also includes working within Fashion design and the creative sector.
Tegen has a BA in Sportswear & Fashion Design, a MA in Applied Imagination for the Creative Industries as well as a CIM foundation in Marketing.
She joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2023.
As Events Lead, Ellie works with the events team on the development and implementation of Cambridge Enterprise’s programme of in-person and online events.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Ellie was the Events Manager at Waresley Park Estate where she was responsible for overseeing all public-facing events. Prior to this, Ellie worked for an events and hospitality marketing agency where she organised events for a variety of corporate clients.
Ellie graduated with a first-class honours degree in International Tourism Management and was also awarded the Bella Rangel Callan Student of the Year Award in 2020.
Ellie joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2023.
Eva provides a high level assistance and support to the Head of Marketing and Communications. She also provides support to members of the wider Marketing and Communications team.
Previously Eva worked as a Pub Manager for Greene King in a busy city centre pub in Cambridge, where she was also the social media representative for not only her pub but also those in the rest of the area.
Having studied Digital Marketing at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, Eva joined the team in August 2023.
Carol has 20 years' experience as an Executive Assistant and currently supports the Chief Executive, Deputy Director and Head of International Affairs, as well as the Chair and Cambridge Enterprise Board members. Carol is also an active member of the Professional Assistants Team, providing high level personal, efficient and confidential support to Cambridge Enterprise as a whole.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Carol worked for MedImmune, the global biopharmaceutical research and development arm of AstraZeneca, as an Executive Assistant supporting three Senior Clinical Directors across therapeutic areas. Prior to this she worked for the Vice-President of UK and Europe and the Medical Director at Gilead Ltd.
Carol has a degree in Institutional Management from Birmingham University and an HND in Public Relations.
Carol joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2016.
As PA to the Executive Office, Sofia supports the Executive Assistant, and the CEO. Sofia also provides admin support to Founders at the University of Cambridge. Her responsibilities include general administrative duties, such as organising meetings, travel, and dinners.
Previously Sofia worked in the hospitality industry, in various front of house roles and has completed her A-Levels in Business BTEC, Psychology and Criminology. She is currently completing her Level 3 Business Administration qualification.
Sofia joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2023 as Business Administrator.
Sinead is responsible for all areas of office administration including procurement, admin procedures, H&S, facilities management and new starter inductions.
Sinead oversees H&S and facilities for the Hauser Forum as a whole, as well as for the Cambridge Enterprise office space. Sinead also provides a wide range of support to the Head of HR and is often the first point of contact throughout the recruitment process.
Recent achievements include the redesign and modernisation of the staff kitchen and creating a welcome pack for new members of staff to receive when their contracts are sent out.
Sinead has extensive administrative experience from a range of roles for different companies including Specsavers and Johnson Matthey.
Sinead holds a BA hons in Politics from Nottingham Trent University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Sinead joined Cambridge Enterprise as Office Administrator in November 2013 and was promoted to Office Manager in October 2014.
As Facilities Assistant, Daniel is responsible for assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of the Cambridge Enterprise building along with assisting reception with visitors and general duties.
Prior to the role Daniel was a Zookeeper for 12 years at Paradise Wildlife Park working with various species but primarily large carnivores and Lower Vertebrates and Invertebrates including Lions, Tigers, Snow Leopards, Dwarf Crocodile, Black Breasted Leaf Turtle and Peruvian Stick Insects to name a few species.
He is a current member of ABWAK (Association of British and Irish Wild Animal Keepers) 2023-2024 and joined Cambridge Enterprise December 2023.
Leading the people and office teams at Cambridge Enterprise, Michelle is responsible for developing and delivering strategic initiatives that support the wider business goals and ensuring that Cambridge Enterprise is legally compliant in all HR matters. In addition, Michelle oversees the recruitment, development, and retention of employees and is responsible for maintaining a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Michelle worked in Tech for Good start-ups, most recently as Head of People at birdie Care. Prior to that, Michelle spent over 12 years working in the financial services sector, most notably at globally renowned institutions such as Advent International, BlueBay Asset Management and Tennenbaum Capital Partners (now BlackRock TCP Capital Corp). Michelle’s background spans across Human Resources, Operations, and Marketing & Investor Relations, which has given her a well-rounded view of the operating needs of a company.
Michelle is a member of the Chartered Institute for Professional Development (CIPD) and holds an MPhil in Sociology from the University of Cambridge.
Michelle joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2023.
As Senior People Partner, Gemma oversees the administration of a variety of people processes including recruitment and supports the Head of People & Culture as well as wider operations team in the day to day running of the department.
Gemma previously worked in the cyber security industry and has extensive training and development experience.
Gemma belongs to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is currently working towards her next qualification.
Gemma joined Cambridge Enterprise in November 2022.
As People and Culture Lead Ian sits within our People and Culture team, driving recruitment and onboarding excellence at Cambridge Enterprise. He spearheads recruitment strategies and oversees the onboarding of new talent, collaborating closely with our diverse team to shape Cambridge Enterprise’s approach to hiring and ensuring a warm welcome for new team members.
Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Ian played a pivotal role in the rapid expansion of Gearset, contributing to the growth from 70 to over 200 employees. As the Recruitment Manager at Elevate Credit, he established and led the recruitment function, playing a key role in enhancing the company’s employer brand.
Ian became a part of the Cambridge Enterprise team in August 2023.
