Programme Overview
Designed by Cambridge Enterprise and tailored for an African audience by TradeConnect Cambridge, this collaborative programme is a master class in knowledge and technology transfer.
It is ideal for those who wish to understand how new ideas and research results are commercialised at the University of Cambridge, how the wider Cambridge cluster is organised, and how it has evolved to become the most intensive science and technological cluster in the world. Participants will delve into the fundamentals of the technology transfer process, learn how to identify and leverage intellectual property, and master the intricacies of developing an academic ecosystem that supports innovation and new enterprise creation.
Delivered by staff from the world-renowned innovation arm of the University of Cambridge, participants will acquire practical skills on how to efficiently commercialise the output of their research base, be given the tools necessary to evaluate and develop their local innovation ecosystem and learn how to create new intellectual property-based ventures. The programme will also help build a knowledge of the wider Cambridge ecosystem through a tour of facilities including some of the 31 science parks and innovation hubs.
