Kate is an Associate Business Development Manager in Life Sciences, Technology Development & Licensing team.
She introduces industry partners to technologies from the life sciences portfolio (including therapeutics, medtech and software) – offering co-development, licensing and venture building opportunities. Within the team, Kate helps to shape IP strategy and commercialisation plans through market intelligence and industry relationships.
Kate’s experience as a Senior Commercialisation Associate in the team, conducting due diligence, market research and IP protection, as part of the evaluation and development of commercial strategy for new technologies in the portfolio, provides the foundation for this transition to business development.
Previously, Kate worked in the commercialisation team at The Babraham Institute, managing an IP portfolio and contributing to knowledge exchange and commercialisation activities that connected institute science with biotech companies on the Babraham Research Campus and beyond. Her scientific background in virology and immunology—developed through a PhD in Virology from Imperial College London and a masters degree from the University of Edinburgh—enables her to critically assess early‑stage assets, understand development risk, and communicate complex biology to investors, BD teams, and R&D stakeholders.
Kate joined Cambridge Enterprise in June 2023.
