Farah Al-Naimi

Associate Director (Physical Sciences)

Farah is an Associate Director within the Physical Sciences team.

Previously, Farah worked for Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd (CML) where she played a pivotal role in securing the company’s first SMA actuator design-win with Huawei, leading to over 100 million units shipped across multiple smartphone designs. She helped build and lead CML’s China-based applications team, established local labs in Shenzhen and Shanghai and established strategic partnerships with top camera module manufacturers.

As Delivery Director, Farah oversaw CML’s first driver IC qualification enabling high-volume rollouts with Xiaomi and Honor. She also helped transform CML into a scalable solutions provider by building a global Applications team.

Farah also worked at Samsung Electronics, where she led a successful Cambridge–Samsung collaboration to develop a prototype sensor.

She holds a BEng, MA, and MEng from Cambridge University (Newnham College) and an MSc from Seoul National University sponsored by Samsung. She was awarded an IET scholarship for women engineers.

Farah joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2025.
