Are you a researcher at the School of Physical Sciences or School of Technology at the University of Cambridge?
The Translational Funding Ideas Incubator is a programme for researchers exploring commercialisation of their ideas. It offers practical guidance, mentorship and tools to help participants identify the next technical and commercial steps toward real-world application. The course consists of six half-day sessions between February and April 2026. Between sessions, participants will work on tasks to apply their learning.
What does the programme offer?
- Training on crucial aspects of technology commercialisation.
- Dedicated 1:1 support to validate your idea and develop a commercialisation plan from the Technology Development and Licensing team at Cambridge Enterprise and a mentor from the wider Cambridge ecosystem. Support will continue beyond the programme.
- Access to our network of mentors & industry contacts.
- Being a part of a cohort of like-minded individuals for peer-to-peer learning and networking.
- A chance to pitch for translational funding up to £250k.

- Applications close on 12 December at noon. Decisions will be communicated during the week of 12 January.
- Selection will depend on the commercial potential, development stage of the technology, level of commitment of your team, and how your technology will fit with the wider cohort.
