Creating stronger, more durable
metal 3D printed parts whilst also reducing early component failure.
Reduced metal component failure
Using their understanding of computer-generated holography, researchers at the University of Cambridge have created a powder-based additive manufacturing demonstrator that can melt-process and sculpt components region by region, rather than spot by spot.
Their technique has the potential to create stronger and more durable metal printed parts, reducing early component failure.
We are now looking for commercial partners interested in helping us to develop this technology to realise its potential.
