Venture Creation 101 is an introductory workshop designed to help University of Cambridge staff and postgraduate students explore the first steps in shaping early-stage ideas into viable ventures and navigating the Cambridge support ecosystem.
With over 20 years’ experience in company creation and venture building, we have the expertise to help you turn your ideas into reality for the benefit of society.
*Please note: this event is only open to current staff and postgraduate students of the University of Cambridge.
This half-day, in-person session, will be co-delivered by Cambridge Enterprise Ventures and Founders at the University of Cambridge, bringing together their expertise and experience in supporting University founders through the entrepreneurial journey from new business creation, building founding teams, providing capital investment and on to delivering life-changing innovations. Whether you’re simply curious or already considering your next step, the workshop will give you a sense of what’s involved and where to find support.
What to expect:
- Insights into the early stages of venture creation
- An introduction to the Cambridge ecosystem and the support available
- The chance to connect with others interested in exploring similar paths
This session is a starting point, an opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity and consider what might come next for your idea.

Networking Lunch
From 13:00 – 14:00, there will be an optional networking lunch. For this, we will join up with attendees of our Consultancy 101 session which takes place from 9:30 – 14:00 on the same day.
