Are you developing software with potential for impact beyond academia?
Are you interested in developing new user communities, or exploring industry applications for your work?
This session is aimed at researchers developing software and data innovations such as new platforms, applications, algorithms and tools, and wanting to better understand how these can be transformed into commercial products and services.
We’ll look at IP in software, common commercial models including non-exclusive licensing, company creation and open source licensing and we’ll talk about how to take first steps towards commercialisation of your innovative research.

- Understand how to manage software and data research, including open source projects, with commercialisation in mind
- Understand some common software-specific commercialisation models and case studies
Above all, this is a chance to connect with a community of like-minded individuals who are exploring how to turn their work into something that benefits society, with the tools and guidance to help make it happen.
