Are you interested in creating impact from your research? Do you wonder how you might do this without having patentable technology, or an idea for a spin out company? Or just looking for a quicker way to make impact?

There are two brilliant ways to achieve meaningful impact quickly, using your existing skills and resources:

1) the provision of your expertise through academic consultancy; and/or

2) the licensing of research tools (such as reagents, or software) to external organisations.

If you are an academic, researcher or PhD student based within the University of Cambridge, and would like to learn more about how to commercialise the outcomes of your research; Cambridge Enterprise will be holding this event to explain how it‘s done – with a special focus on 2 different routes: Consultancy and Research Tools.

While these two activities are distinct in their nature, both leading to an ultimate benefit to society and are a quicker route than other forms of commercialisation.

Join us for lunch and hear:

  • an introduction to academic consultancy – what it is and how it generates impact
  • the benefits of sharing your knowledge as a consultant
  • an introduction to how to license research tools and what these include (reagents, software, copyright, database rights etc) and how they generate impact
  • details of how Cambridge Enterprise can help
  • a Q&A session
