The London Leap is stage-agnostic, provided the venture can make meaningful use of time inside an investor/operator ecosystem (LocalGlobe, BioInnovation Institute, Balderton Capital).

The London Leap partners include three partner hubs, each with different specialisms:

• BioInnovation Institute (BII) – Life sciences and bioinnovation
• LocalGlobe – Broad tech, community-centric ecosystem
• Balderton Capital – AI and deep tech orientation

You do not need to align perfectly with a domain to participate in the initiative.

Yes. Solo founders may apply. Teams of up to three can be placed at each partner location.

Each partner agrees to host a team for six months, offering workspace and structured access to their network. To make best use of the offering, we expect 1-3 founders to use the space for a minimum of one day per week.

No. Up to three team members can access the workspace, but founders can choose who attends and when.

Application timeline: 

• 25th May – Application link emailed to event attendees
• 8th June – Applications close
• W/c 8 & 15 June – Review window
• W/c 29 June – Applicant outcomes and introduction calls to Leap partners. Applicants can expect to hear back about their application during this week.

Application review process 
All applications will be reviewed by a panel including representation from the three partners and Cambridge Enterprise.

We will notify all applicants of the outcome of their application.
For those companies who are unsuccessful in the selection process, feedback will be provided upon request.

Mentorship offerings and opportunities will vary by partner.

After the six-month engagement, founders are encouraged to continue developing relationships built during the placement, including investors, advisors, talent, and ecosystem partners.

At the end of the engagement period, all partners and participants will be contacted to share feedback and to capture outcomes, learnings, and any key success factors.

Yes. This initiative is an addition to existing services and does not impact any other Cambridge Enterprise service or activity available to you.

Yes, you are eligible to apply. We recognise that founders will be at different stages, and the stage of your company will be considered during the review process to ensure suitability to the partners and support available.

No. There is no financial arrangement between Cambridge Enterprise and London partners, and users do not pay to access the service.

Cambridge Enterprise will not contribute to any costs relating to use the hubs e.g. travel – participants must cover their own travel and other expenses.

The partnership model is non-financial.

Partners provide workspace and access because of the shared mission to support Cambridge innovation.
