AI-driven discovery for net-zero materials

Green Impact

Material extraction and processing is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. This is especially true for materials which underpin the technologies we rely on to green our economy, including electric vehicles, and wind turbines.

Materials Nexus is using AI to make superior materials faster than ever before.

By harnessing the accuracy of leading material modelling techniques and the speed of machine learning models, Materials Nexus is able to rapidly design and create new materials that solve performance, cost, and environmental issues.

Advancing sustainable materials with AI and quantum technology

Materials Nexus is a pioneering company that leverages artificial intelligence and advanced quantum calculations to accelerate the discovery and development of sustainable materials. Its innovative platform aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by creating materials that are both environmentally friendly and efficient. Materials Nexus focuses on providing solutions that support the transition to net-zero technologies, making significant strides in green sustainable materials research.

In 2023, Materials Nexus announced the close of a £2 million Seed round led by Ada Ventures with participation from Cambridge Enterprise Ventures, National Security specialists MD One Ventures, as well as angel investors Andrew MacKay and Jasmin Thomas. This investment will help Materials Nexus to roll out its ground-breaking AI and quantum mechanics technology helping to fast track the discovery and development of sustainable, cheaper, higher performing materials.
