The Hauser Forum

State-of-the-art focal point for entrepreneurship in the East of England

The Hauser Forum was opened in 2010 by University Chancellor, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Featuring two landmark buildings, the Broers Building and the Entrepreneurship Centre, the Hauser Forum is stimulating innovative collaboration between clusters of academics, start-up and established businesses.

The forum is situated on the University of Cambridge’s West Cambridge Research and Development Park which also includes many notable buildings at the forefront of science research including: The Microsoft Research Centre, Schlumberger Research Centre and the University’s Cavendish Laboratory.

The construction of the Hauser Forum was made possible by an £8 million donation to the University of Cambridge by The Hauser-Raspe Foundation on behalf of Hermann Hauser and his wife Pamela Raspe, and a £2 million grant from EEDA, the East of England Development Agency. The centre is managed and operated by the University of Cambridge.

About the building

The Hauser Forum was designed by Wilkinson Eyre with Archial Architects and features a modern and spacious design that rises from the beautiful agricultural land to the west of Cambridge. The development is naturally ventilated and includes many green features including an underground labyrinth to pre-cool incoming air, ground source heat pumps and an attenuation pond and reed beds to filter run-off water.
