Dr Stefan Galander
Investment AssociateStefan is an Investment Associate working to identify and develop ground breaking Life Science companies emerging from the University of Cambridge.
Stefan has previously worked as an Analyst at Cambridge Innovation Capital, working across Investor Relations, Investment and Operations to provide data-driven insights into investment activities, companies as well as national and international innovation ecosystems. Stefan’s journey into venture capital started at Sana Capital, where he was responsible for sourcing company and LP deal flow, and supporting the establishment of a first-time VC fund. Prior to this, Stefan worked at The Company of Biologists, a non-profit science publisher, across cell, developmental and disease biology journals.
Stefan’s background is in cell biology, with a BSc (Hons) and PhD from the University of Edinburgh. For his doctoral work at the Wellcome Centre for Cell Biology, he used yeast as a model to understand the processes that form sperm and egg cells in humans. He has published his research in Developmental Cell and Wellcome Open Research and summarised his views on his field in a Review in BioEssays.
Stefan joined Cambridge Enterprise in September 2025.
