A bitesize introduction to the commercialisation journey

This session explores how research ideas can become products and services with wider impact.

We will give an introduction to intellectual property (IP) and the different routes to commercialisation, including licensing and spinouts.

We will explore what makes an idea commercially interesting, how to protect it and where to turn for support.

Fill out the form below to register!

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the main types of IP and what to consider before publishing or sharing your research
  • Explore how others can develop and use your research through licensing to an existing company or a spinout
  • Understand how to qualitatively assess the commercial potential of an idea
  • See how your Technology Transfer Office and the wider Cambridge community can help you explore your options.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout, as well as during a Q&A session at the end.
