Hybridoma cell line producing IR 18-40 antibodies raised against the extracellular domain of the human insulin receptor, which are mouse monoclonal antibodies of the IgG1 isotype. Has been shown to cross react weakly with bovine, porcine, ovine and rabbit, but not rat or mouse insulin receptors. It has been shown to cause up to 50% inhibition of insulin binding and has been used in immunoprecipitation and blocking assays.
