Hybridoma cell line producing LP1 antibodies raised against Herpes Simplex Virus Type-1 and Type-2 tegument protein VP16, which are mouse monoclonal antibodies of the IgG1 isotype. Works well for immunofluorescence (IF) on fixed specimens and for immunoprecipitiation (IP) on triton solubilised samples. Can be used to detect protein by Western blot. VP16 is a transactivator present in the HSV virion. The linear epitope lies within the N-terminal 24 residues. This is the only known monoclonal antibody to VP16.
