Find out more about becoming a consultant

We are delighted to offer the Consultancy 101 workshop to academics and researchers of the University.

Whether you are considering becoming a consultant or are already consulting and looking for some tips and advice, then you will find this workshop beneficial. The Consultancy Services team will share expertise on best practice, advice on getting the optimal price for your skills, and tips for troubleshooting some of the key issues faced by consultants.

What the workshop covers

  • The benefits and impact of undertaking consultancy work
  • Key issues surrounding confidentiality, intellectual property and liability
  • How we can help you undertake consultancy more effectively
  • A panel of consultants from the University sharing their experience, followed by a Q&A session
  • Networking with Cambridge Enterprise trainers and panel speakers

Next workshop

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently replacing the Consultancy 101 workshop with an online session that is designed to mirror that which is seen in person (to a smaller timescale).

Please note: we welcome applications from anyone currently employed by the University. For this reason, undergraduates are not eligible to attend. PhD students are eligible if they plan to undertake consultancy work on behalf of their Principal Investigator (we will need to see written permission).
