This is a pivotal role in an exceptional organisation. Responsibilities centre on developing and driving people management strategies and ensuring that HR programmes and initiatives are implemented in a way that is aligned with the overall business vision and strategy. Talent, reward, organisational design and data analytics are key areas for strategic direction and leadership. The role is responsible for embedding and strengthening employee engagement and organisational culture, championing our values and embracing a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation, through strong leadership and behaviour.
The role is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and leads the HR, Office Management and Facilities team.
The postholder will ensure that the Cambridge Enterprise has up-to-date effective people policies and procedures, fulfilling all compliance requirements, and adopts the highest standards of people management to ensure we continuously attract, develop, and retain talent. The role requires highly developed people management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, empower and inspire. The ideal candidate will be strongly self-motivated, bringing gravitas, credibility, energy, resilience and commitment to the role.
Extensive HR management experience will offer confidence in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, and an ability to proactively and collaboratively develop solutions that tackle business challenges (including organisational development, performance improvement and team restructure). We are seeking strong problem-solving skills with a capability to see opportunity in challenges. The role also requires highly developed organisational skills, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to share complex matters in a clear, concise and approachable manner.
Working for a subsidiary of the University of Cambridge, you will be offered a competitive salary with performance related pay, 30 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, a University pension and a flexible working environment. We are based in modern office space on the West Cambridge site (home to a thriving academic and research and development community). We offer hybrid working and for this role there will be an opportunity of some home working, around the expectation of spending 3 days or more per week in the office alongside colleagues.
