This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time Facilities Assistant to oversee the Entrepreneurship Centre, part of the Hauser Forum complex, which is an entrepreneurial hub for the University of Cambridge and the surrounding area.

You will be working for Cambridge Enterprise, the commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge, and the largest of the building’s tenants. Cambridge Enterprise‘s mission is to help University of Cambridge innovators, experts and entrepreneurs make their ideas and concepts more commercially successful for the benefit of society, the UK economy and the University.

Salary up to £25,000 based on individual skills and experience. Due to the nature of this role, this position is office based.

The Role:

Overseeing the general running of the building by carrying out a variety of hands on and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will cover the large reception area, multiple offices, meeting rooms and the rentable seminar centre together with its audio visual (AV) facilities.

You will ensure the building is presented to the highest possible standard by overseeing and taking pride in its maintenance, security and cleaning. You will also take a critical role in ensuring the Health and Safety of the building is maintained.

This is a key-holder role and will occasionally require out of hours presence during emergencies.

Your skills:

You will use your excellent customer service skills to respond to the needs of the tenants and liaise between our University contacts and contractors. You will need to be proactive in identifying potential issues and able to focus on finding solutions. Confident in minor maintenance repairs, including safe power tool work.

You are hands-on with a can-do attitude. Able to follow processes and work with systems to liaise with University contacts and contractors.

You have good IT and administrative skills and can confidently use Microsoft Office packages such as outlook, SharePoint & word. Have the aptitude to build on your knowledge base gaining specific new skills, such as building management and security systems along with audio visual equipment upgrades.
