How would you market the commercial ventures of world-leading academics?
This is a full time role, and the salary is competitive.
Sitting at the heart of Europe’s most successful technology cluster, Cambridge Enterprise is the commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge. We support academic staff and students, and turn technology, expertise and innovation into a valuable and sustainable portfolio of companies, investments, licences and consultancies.
2017 was a busy year for us. As well as celebrating our 10th anniversary we also completed a strategic review and identified our priorities for the next five years. In turn, the Marketing and Communications team has been restructured in order to focus on our markets and ensure we can more effectively deliver our objectives. As part of this restructure we now have an exciting opportunity for a capable and motivated marketer to make their mark by defining and implementing our ‘External’ market strategy.
We define the External market as being any organisation or individual beyond the University with an interest in the technologies, inventions or expertise available through Cambridge Enterprise. The Marketing Executive will help deliver Cambridge Enterprise’s mission by understanding the characteristics and needs of this market, developing objective-led strategies and implementing campaigns.
Working collaboratively with peers across and beyond the University, and supported by an experienced Marketing Manager, the role holder will have a unique opportunity to define the breadth and scope of this new role. With such a broad potential market and exciting portfolio of world-class products and services, this is a role that requires strategic insight and fresh thinking. Find out more about the job in the Role Profile.
Drawing on your practical experience and professional training, you will already know your strategies from your tactics, your metrics from your media and your GDPR from your e-Privacy. You will understand how to develop customer-focused marketing strategies and have a track record of delivering integrated campaigns. Comfortable working within a team, you will be equally adept at managing your own time and prioritising your workload. You’ll be familiar with applying brand guidelines and understand how to evaluate effectiveness. Your awareness of best practice and marketing trends helps you make better-informed decisions and complements your critical approach to evaluating opportunity and risk.
