Mark Parsons - Head of Finance and Accounting

As Head of Finance and Accounting, Mark is responsible for the accounting function of Cambridge Enterprise, including effective recording, accounting and reporting, as well as meeting annual audit and other compliance obligations.

In addition to traditional finance and accounting duties, the Finance Team is responsible for the accurate and timely distribution of income received from commercialisation activities to parties including academics, departments, research funders and third parties.

Mark has been instrumental in automating the quarterly close process and implementing new accounting systems to better serve the business units and support functions of the organisation. Mark is the Assistant Company Secretary for the organisation, carrying out company secretarial duties on behalf of the Registrary of the University of Cambridge, and is also the Cambridge representative LLP Committee Member for Apollo Therapeutics LLP.

Mark has held a variety of accounting, reporting and financial compliance roles for UK, US and European companies of varying sizes, in head office as well as subsidiary environments. Mark has over 20 years’ accounting experience, working in public practice and industry for a variety of companies including capital equipment manufacturing, healthcare, agrochemical and dot com.

Mark is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and graduated with a BSc Hons in Business Information Systems.

Mark joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2009.

Helen Page-Croft - Financial Controller

Helen joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2008 as Contract Accountant.

For seven years prior to that, she worked for Cambridge Manufacturing Industry Links, now IfM Education and Consultancy Services Limited, another wholly owned company of the University of Cambridge.

Elizabeth Bone - Financial Accountant

Elizabeth joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2007 as an Accounts Assistant, and is responsible for the purchase ledgers for both Cambridge Enterprise and Cambridge University Technical Services.

Elizabeth has more than 20 years’ experience of ledger accounts.

Steven Humm - Sales Ledger Administrator

Steven joined Cambridge Enterprise as Sales Ledger Administrator in 2011.

He came to the company after five years’ experience working for a spin-out from Cambridge Consultants. Prior to this, Steven has more than 25 years’ experience in manufacturing, retail and wholesale accounts.

Rosemary Javahery - Credit Control

Rosemary is responsible for credit control. Her role includes preparing invoices and collecting payments for medical specialists in private practice, and administrating customer payments.

Previous roles include: PA to the District Head Postmaster of Royal Mail Cambridge; Receptionist/Administrator at Arthur D Little; and Secretary to the Directors at Win-Born Products Ltd, carrying out all accounts and payroll. 

Rosemary joined Cambridge Enterprise in April 2017. 

 

Catalina Brumann - Purchase Ledger Administrator

Catalina's role involves preparing the monthly payment runs; reconciling the bank accounts, the Barclays credit card and the petty cash; and dealing with purchase orders. 

Catalina has worked most recently in the finance departments of Cambridge University colleges. Earlier roles have been with the  European Finance Service centre of an American company near Cambridge,  ‘Banco International’, now part of HSBC, and in the accounts department of a family business.

Catalina completed her finance studies at a private University in Mexico (ITESM). She has since moved with her family to Germany, Denmark and the UK.

Catalina joined Cambridge Enterprise in May 2018.

 

Carol Harrison - Executive Assistant

Carol has 20 years of Executive Assistant experience primarily working at a senior level within Pharmaceutical Medicine.

Before joining Cambridge Enterprise, Carol worked for MedImmune, the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca, as an Executive Assistant supporting three Senior Clinical Directories across therapeutic areas. Prior to this she worked for the Vice-President of UK and Europe and the Medical Director at Gilead Ltd.

Ruth Queen - Head of Human Resources

As Head of Human Resources (HR), Ruth guides, manages and provides strategy on the people function of Cambridge Enterprise.

In this role, Ruth has been developing and implementing HR best practice in areas such as employee engagement and communication, attracting and managing talent, employee reward, and employee wellbeing. This progress is reflected in our Gold accreditation as one of the Best Employers in the Eastern Region for 2018.

Ruth values the flexible and agile working environment at Cambridge Enterprise, as well as the inclusive and engaged culture.

Ruth has over 20 years’ HR experience, working across various sectors including not-for-profit (Cambridge-based housing associations CHS Group and Granta Housing Society), new business (high tech start-up Geneva Technology) and global corporation (Convergys).

Ruth is CIPD-qualified and graduated with a BA Hons in Philosophy and European Literature.

Ruth joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2014.

Sinead Varley - Office Manager

Sinead joined Cambridge Enterprise in 2013 as an Office Administrator and became Office Manager in 2014.

Prior to joining Cambridge Enterprise, she worked for Johnson Matthey as an Admin Assistant within its technology department and offered admin support to a large team of chemists, engineers and production line workers. Sinead has a degree in Politics from Nottingham Trent University.

Rafal Juszczak - Facilities Assistant

Rafal joined Cambridge Enterprise in October 2016 to oversee the general running of the Hauser Forum and provide support to Seminar Centre users.

Previously, Rafal worked for almost nine years in Trinity Hall providing support for its conference and housekeeping teams. During this time he became an AV Technologist. Rafal also holds a Building Technician diploma.

 

Georgina Hall - Office Administrator

Georgina assists with office and HR administration. Her role includes general office maintenance as well as booking meeting rooms and staff holidays.

Georgina has previously held roles as acting manager and supervisor in a retail/customer service environment. She has also volunteered with young autistic children.

She recently completed her Sixth Form at Impington Village College, where she achieved an International Baccalaureate certificate in English literature and language and a A* in performing arts. She is now studying for an apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Georgina joined Cambridge Enterprise in October 2018.
