Royal Academy of Engineering: Industrial Secondment Scheme
This scheme enables teaching staff in UK Higher Education Institutions to work on a collaborative project with UK industry. The awardee will gain up-to-date knowledge of current industry working practice, enabling them to improve the quality and industrial relevance of their teaching. Whilst in industry, the awardee may pursue a research project to further enhance knowledge transfer in engineering between those in industry and those in academia.
Eligibility: Applicants should be teaching engineering at a UK HEI.
Funding: The scheme provides funding to cover the salary cost of the applicant, paid pro-rata against the amount of time to be spent at the industry host. The award can be for any period up to six months full-time or one year pro-rata.
