The European Commission Framework Programme 7: Cooperation, under its innovative medicines initiative, and with funding from the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), invites applications for its seventh joint call for proposals. The topics for this call are:

• developing a framework for rapid assessment of vaccination benefit and risk in Europe, for which funding is worth up to €5 million over five years;

• incorporating real-life clinical data into drug development, for which funding is worth up to €8m over three years.

Applications must be by consortia consisting of eligible entities including small and medium-sized enterprises, non-profit organisations, intergovernmental organisations, and secondary and higher educational establishments. At stage 1 of the call, projects must include at least two eligible, independent entities (not EFPIA companies), and must be conducted in a member state or FP7-associated country. At stage 2 the applicant consortia will be invited to form joint consortia with pre-established EFPIA consortia (consisting of at least 2 companies) and submit full proposals.

Funding: The budget for this call is €13m, this will be matched by an in kind contribution from the research-based companies that are members of the EFPIA. The maximum IMI JU financial contribution covers 75% of eligible costs for research activities and 100% of eligible costs for other activities including management and training activities.
